A little about us
Gemma Lynn Gems is a family owned and operated business ran out of our home in Centerville, Ohio. We are a mother/daughter (and now sister) team who have always loved crystals and geology. After the loss of our husband/father we decided to make crystal collecting our hobby. We searched for anything that called to us, we learned that what we were drawn to was meant to help with grief and negativity. This hobby, turned business, helped us pull ourselves out of the hole we were in. As we began our new normal we added to the family, a rescued cat name Gemma, who loves the boxes the crystals come in more than the mineral itself. Through our minor crystal addiction,  we discovered that most shops have ridiculously high markups. We founded our business in May of 2021, as Covid was in full swing, we realized that many people didn't have the means to buy from these affluent shops. This is where the idea for Gemma Lynn's Gems was born. From two people overcoming their grief, a rescued barn cat and the hope that everyone can find the light at the end of their tunnel no matter how dark it seems.

Meet the Team

After the loss of my Husband in 2019, we decided we needed a hobby.  What grew from weekend road trips and out of state adventures looking for crystals, turned into a small family-owned business. My sister, who has an amazing knack for crafts, decided to join the team in 2022. We didn't see this little hobby growing into the awesomeness that it is today. The company name comes from my sassy and very nosy rescue cat that planted herself in every box we opened.

Besides being a mom, the secretary for the Dayton, Gem and Mineral Society, and running Gemma Lynn's Gems, I also have a full-time job. Gemma Lynn's Gems was born out of a dark time in my life and is now a shining star that fills my heart with so much happiness. I really enjoy meeting and talking to everyone that stops by my booth.

Maddie Rae

Co-Owner

Maddie is a full-time college student and works part time. On her days off, she is working the Gemma Lynn's Gem booth or helping with inventory. If you stop at one of my events, I am sure you will see her working right alongside me.

Melissa Joy

Event Coordinator / Owner of Witchy Bitchy Booms

Melissa has an ability to create amazing crafts. She makes anything from jewelry to skulls with crystals. She joined Gemma Lynn's shortly after starting the business. Check out her section of crafts listed under Witchy Bitchy Brooms.

The Real Boss

Gemma Lynn is a rescued barn cat with a heart condition. She came into our lives during a great loss and brought us joy and laughter when we needed it the most. So, in return, we decided to name our shop after her.
